Swillinton

Swillington is a small village located in Leeds which is in West Yorkshire, England. Swillington used to be a coal mining village until the pit closed, which caused major upsets in the community.

Swillinton’s facilities include St. Mary’s Church, a Post Office, one pub “The Swillington” and two Social Club’s, (The Miners Welfare and the Labour Club) and a parade of shops.

The major roads in Swillington are Wakefield Road and Swillington Lane.

Nearby villages and towns include Garforth, Kippax, Castleford, Allerton Bywater, Rothwell and Methley. The local school, Swillington Primary School is a medium sized school with around 270 pupils.
